About
NKYAA
The
Northern Kentucky Youth Athletic Association (NKYAA) was created as an avenue
to challenge youth to dream more, strive to be more, and to get more out of
life through recreational athletic leagues.
NKYAA provides a wide array of services and support to our members
including but not limited to insurance, coaching and referee support, legal and
administrative support, US Soccer Affiliation, and publications for all
members. NKYAA is an opportunity for children to experience the game of their
choosing in a fun safe environment.
History
of NKYAA
The
Northern KY Youth Athletic Assoc. was established 2008, in Northern KY. In 2009
NKYAA along with its affiliates (SAY Soccer/NFTSL/KABA/Babe Ruth/Heritage
Athletics) assists over 650 athletic leagues, 150,000 players, 36,000 coaches,
across the United States.
The
climate in youth sports is changing from the professional ranks, select and
premier, to the grassroots recreational programs. NKYAA understands the unique
needs of individuals and families as well as schools desiring a structured
athletic program. Our aim is to be progressive and flexible to meet ever
changing needs while providing the stability and backing of top rated program.
NKYAA is also affiliated with national organizations as well to assure program
consistency and professionalism (USFTL / US Soccer Federation / etc.).
About
our Founder
Sean
Carper, CEO/Athletic Commisioner, founded NKYAA out of a passion and a vision
to serve the youth in the Northern Kentucky area. For over 25 years Sean has
served as a community leader, organizer, and public speaker. He has served as
director of youth in Houston, TX; Virginia Beach, VA; Northern KY. Though an avid sports fan, his most out
spoken passion is for his family. His
goal in creating NKYAA is to use athletics to get parents and children engaged
with each other. One of his goals was to “return the hearts of the children to
their parents and the parents to their children.” Sean has been recognized by public officials
for his work with young people; including a Proclamation from the mayor of
Pasadena, TX for his work in the community with youth. Sean also serves on the board of directors
for Prisoners of Hope Ministries, which provides education and supports to
inmates and their families. Currently he
is serving as Children & Family Director at a local church here in Northern
Kentucky.
